A neighborhood of post World War II housing. Westgate is bounded by Ottawa Hills to the south, and Interstate 475 and Monroe Street to the north. Housing in Westgate ranges from one to two story Cape Cod, Arts and Crafts, Tudor, Neo-Colonial, and Modern style homes east of Secor Road to Ranch, Split Level, and Prairie style homes west of Secor Road. Many moderately priced apartments are also located east of Secor Road. Westgate features many large shade trees and well-kept streets.

Linconshire, an area north of Central Avenue and West of Secor Road, is a network of curvilinear streets unique to Westgate. These homes sit on large lots with broad front yards and carefully trimmed lawns, giving the area a park like setting.

Westgate has one notable park, Grove Patterson Park. Here, residents can enjoy its baseball diamond, tennis courts, and large open field. The University of Toledo, to the south, offers sporting events, concerts, movies, and a planetarium to the students and community.

The Franklin Park Mall and the surrounding commercial area are located just north of Westgate, which is accessible via Talmadge road, Monroe Street, or Woodley Road.

Bounding Interstate 475, Westgate residents find transportation easy throughout Toledo. Monroe Street runs northwest to Sylvania and southeast to downtown Toledo. Central Avenue leads to yet another commercial area outside the city limits, and Secor Road provides access to The University of Toledo.
